The Holocaust has served as a backdrop for millions of families in the last as well as the present century. For each family there is a different story. For each family member, a complex very personal experience of being affected. For some, the experience almost feels first-hand even if they were born years later. For others, though there might not be the obvious connections to present day life, something seems to loom in the patterns of the family. Shedding light on the shadow of the Holocaust’s affects on oneself and one’s family may offer a better lit path from which to direct one’s life.
